Instructed by God to start a church, Pastor Vertise Z. Rozier began Cathedral ofFAITH Family Praise Center International on the 4th day of December, 1994. Despite feelings of insufficiencies in his ability to lead God's people, Pastor Rozier was reminded that he was chosen before his own birth and ordained before he was conceived in his mother's womb.

He began Cathedral of Faith in a rented conference room at the Holiday Inn in Forsyth, Georgia. In the first service at the newly established church, God moved on the hearts of the people and the first twelve members joined that day. After only a month of worship in the conference room, there was a need to find a new facility for worship services. The Lord opened doors to rent a building in the heart of the city. While Cathedral of Faith was located on North Lee Street many souls joined with the ministry.

In a short time the men of the church along with Pastor Rozier sought out a new facility for the ministry. They found and bought five acres of land on highway 83 North while holding worship services at what is now known as Ebby's restaurant on highway 83 south. Our Pastor, however, believed God for a new facility in the city of Forsyth. The members joined with him in praying, and giving to the vision of C.O.F.'s current location. In November of 1998 Cathedral ofFAITH Family Praise Center International on 150 Powerhouse Road was finished.

The History Behind the Name

Cathedral : Mathew 23:2 "Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses'seat.

The Greek Word Kathedra, for seat , is how we got our word Cathedral. When Jesus spoke of Moses' seat, he meant more than his place at the table for dinner, or a cosy chair. His use of the word Deliberatley intended to convey the idea of theSITE of offical, primarliy spiritual authority, particularly that of ecclesiastical authority. Seat: Chair, resting place: Seat of Power and authority, usually of an ecclesiastical nature such as the priest's seats in the temples. Seat also represents the place of relaxation, study, or comfort for work.

Faith: Hebrews 11:1 " NowFAITH is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

The immaterial mechanism that produces material blessings and provisions for Creator God.

Family: The word family applies to all the free moral offspring of God-whether by direct creation, begetting, or adoption-past. Ephesians 3:15 " of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named."

Praise: Genesis 29:35 and she conceived again and bare a son and she said, Now will I praise the Lord, therefore she called hisNAME Judah;

Center: A facility providing a place for a particular activity orSERVICE. Hebrews10:21; " And having a High priest over the house of God." Hebrews 10:25" not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

International: Matthew 24:24 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come"
